PubMed includes data on medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, public health, psychology, biology, genetics, biochemistry, cytology, biotechnology, biomedicine, etc. The PubMed database grows by 500,000 documents annually.
The database was developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).

NEWT – a taxonomic database in English

integrates taxonomic data accumulated in PubMed and data related to UniProt. The database is maintained by the UniProt group (UniProt is the result of collaboration between the European Bioinformatics Institute, UK (EBI), SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, and the Protein Information Resource, USA (PIR)).
