Macadamia

MACADAMIA
The Australian nut or macadamia is the most calorie-dense nut. Its seeds (nuts) are characterized by a fairly high content of certain vitamins, minerals, proteins, but most importantly – unsaturated fatty acids (especially oleic acid) and phytosterols.
Macadamia nuts are rich in gamma-tocopherol (100 g contains 126.7% of the daily requirement), vitamin B1 (thiamine) (70.3%), vitamin K (phylloquinone) (44.9%), biotin (23.2%), pantothenic acid (15.2%), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) (13.8%), and vitamin PP (nicotinic acid) (12.4%).
     The mineral composition is based on: vanadium (425.0%), boron (320.0%), silicon (303.3%), manganese (206.6%), copper (75.6%), cobalt (73.0%), zirconium (52.4%), rubidium (44.0%), molybdenum (42.4%), magnesium (32.5%), nickel (26.7%), chromium (25.6%), strontium (25.0%), iron (24.6%), phosphorus (23.5%), potassium (14.8%), sulfur (14.6%), zinc (10.8%).
Macadamia nuts contain essential and non-essential amino acids (12.0% and 12.3% of the daily requirement per 100 g, respectively). Macadamia nuts are especially rich in the essential amino acid phenylalanine (22.2%) and the non-essential amino acid arginine (23.0%).
Macadamia nuts stand out for their content of unsaturated fatty acids (147.3%), especially the monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid oleic acid: 100 g contains 43.748 g, which is a very high indicator (only olive oil has more – 72 g per 100 g, and hazelnuts – up to 48 g per 100 g). It is known that oleic acid promotes the dissolution of cholesterol plaques in blood vessels and thus prevents the development of atherosclerosis. Therefore, macadamia nuts are a good remedy for the prevention of atherosclerosis.
Macadamia nuts are also notable for their phytosterol content (210.9% of the daily norm per 100 g), the main part of which is beta-sitosterol (295.0%), which allows macadamia nuts to be classified as a women's product (for more details, see Avocado).
       Macadamia nuts contain fiber (34.4%), starch (1.05 g per 100 g), and quite a lot of sucrose (4.43 g).
The content of purine bases in 100 g is 10.0% of the daily norm.
The oxalic acid content in 100 g is 42 mg, which is 10.5% of the maximum permissible daily intake (for more details, see Rhubarb).
It should be noted that macadamia nuts can accumulate the toxic trace element strontium (25% of the acceptable daily intake in 100 g).
