Mandarin

MANDARIN

The fruits of mandarin, like the fruits of orange differ in their relatively high content of  ascorbic acid (in 100 g – 38.1% of the daily norm), but less than orange (in its fruits – 59%), and are not very rich in other vitamins.
In terms of mineral elements, the fruits of mandarin and orange are also similar, the most significant differences are observed in the content of molybdenum (the fruits of mandarin exceed oranges in molybdenum content by 90 times), cobalt (mandarin is 14 times richer in cobalt than orange), lithium (orange is richer in lithium by 7 times), oranges contain slightly more copper (1.7 times) and potassium (1.6 times).
In the fruits of mandarin, the following predominate: boron (200%), cobalt (141%), molybdenum (90.1%), rubidium (63%), silicon (20%), vanadium (18%).

Mandarins stand out in their total phytosterol content (67.2%, for comparison: oranges – 44%), mandarins are also close to oranges in terms of the amount of mono- and disaccharides (15%), among which glucose predominates (in 100 g – 21.3% of the daily norm; in oranges – 25%), but they contain less fiber (7.2%; oranges – 12%).

Just like oranges, the fruits of mandarin do not contain starch and contain sucrose in significant amounts, almost 2 times more than oranges, (in 100 g – 6.05 g; oranges – 3.5 g).
The total purine base content in 100 g of mandarins and oranges is the same and amounts to 6.7% of the daily norm.
